This titanium Mosaic is a custom RT-1, and uses their top-of-the-line frameset. The RT-1 features size-specific butted tubing, a tapered-steerer Enve Road 2.0 fork, and an oversized 44mm headtube. The lucky owner of this bike chose to give the frame full-paint, and to have the fork matching as well. As usual, the folks at Mosaic do impeccable work … the welds are super clean! The stainless steel headbadge looks great against the paint. Custom geometry was a must for this rider to get the handlebar in the correct location. This RT-1 uses an integrated seatpost, which will add some shock … Continue reading
Presenting the new 2014 Giant Anyroad 2. The Anyroad bikes use a brand new frame for Giant. The point of the new design is to combine the comfortable riding position of an endurance-road bike with the wider tire capability of a cyclocross bike. Giant is at the forefront of modern aluminum shaping, and this new frame is a great example of how smoothly contoured aluminum frames can be. Here are a couple more shots showing the beautiful frame construction. Notice that Giant have added an internal seatpost binder. Another interesting part on the Anyroad models is the second set of … Continue reading
Co-Motion is a leader in top quality tandems, and this is a new model for them: The Java. It’s parts package is similar to Co-Motion’s classic Speedster model, but the Java has a new oversized and butted cromoly steel tubeset used in the frame . The most exciting feature of the java is the wider tire clearance built into the frame! The frame and fork can fit up to a 2.0″ width tire. We built this particular one using Velocity Dyad rims that can accept anywhere from a 28mm width tire (standard for road tandems) up to a 2″ width … Continue reading
The Scott Foil is one of the growing number of bikes in the Aero Road category. They are perfect for improving your battle against the wind! The times you’d love a Foil are riding into a headwind, a long solo ride, or when on a breakaway in a race. The aero-shaped tubing makes for a great frame for stronger rider, or someone who loves a good sprint. The aerodynamic advantages come from the use of “Kamm Tail” shaped tubing. The tubing has an aerodynamic leading edge, and directs the airflow in such a way as it leaves the tube that … Continue reading
This Independent Fabrication Steel Planet Cross sees it’s share of mud and cold. A high-end steel frame like this one is great for cyclocross … the material itself lends a ton of durability, and Independent Fabrication’s excellent construction allows great ride quality and low frame weight. Check out the slim fork legs and rear dropouts!
This one has a special place in my heart … A steel Independent Fabrication Crown Jewel. A frame with century-old materials matched with some awesome technology in the parts. You can’t beat a top level steel machine like this for ride quality. The Ultegra Di2 works flawlessly … even the push-button front shifting … and never needs adjustment. These American Classic wheels are some of the lightest, and they can be used as tubeless as well. Tubeless tires will give you improvement in comfort and efficiency … both good things. A seatpost mounted Di2 battery keeps everything looking clean. Color-matched … Continue reading
Here is a Mosaic that we put together for a local rider. Mosaic includes custom geometry on all of their frames, and we used that ultimate control to shape the bike into one designed for long-distance comfort. It can fit up to 32mm width tires, and can accept front and rear luggage racks. Aaron Barcheck at Mosaic does immaculate weld work on his frames. You can get as close as you like to the beads, and still you won’t see anything but smoothness. Notice how the bolts that hold the disc brake caliper to the frame thread into a small … Continue reading
SRAM’s phenomenal XX1 parts group was brand new when this Giant Anthem Advancedwas built. We stripped a stock bike down to the frame to rebuild it with the 11 speed, single chainring group. Tubeless tires were requested, of course, and NoTubes Arch EX rims made an easy-to-live-with set up. Giant’s Anthem Advanced frame is a great one. The wide frame tubing keeps the bike stiff and pointed where you’d want it to go, and the carbon keeps it light. A lightweight racing suspension bike with a lifetime warranty on the frame ! SRAM was thinking outside of the box when … Continue reading
Here’s road bike built to last. Independent Fabrication’s steel Crown Jewel frame gives you maximum durabilty, and the custom geometry ensures it’s a perfect fit. A high-end steel frame like this one gives you great shock absoption along with the snappy feel a metal frame is known for. We receive it as a frameset alone from Independent Fabrication. We chose a standard threaded bottom bracket shell to ensure parts would be available for decades! An oversized 44mm headtube allows the use of a full carbon Enve form with a tapered steerer tube. The Cane Creek 110 headset gives a hint … Continue reading
